Good Chance Popiah is a 30-year, 3 generation family-run eatery founded by Mr Hou. We specialise in Hokkien Popiah made up of a variety of healthy ingredients wrapped in spring roll skin.
Born in Fu Jian, China. Mr Hou, 98 years old, used to be a reporter during his younger days. Due to his excellent basketball skills, he was also the Coach for the Singapore National Basketball Team. After Mr Hou retired, he created ‘Good Chance Popiah Eating House’ in 1977.
Popiah (Spring Roll) is a traditional dish from Xia Men, Fu Jian. His culinary skills and recipe were passed down by his parents, a tradition in the family. He had been running the business for decades until he was 88 years old, when his 3rd generation – Ah Boy (Grandson) began to take over.
From there, the legend of Ah Boy begins!
